Where to visit on your New Zealand Holiday
As we head into our New Zealand summer, I wanted to share with you a very special place worth including on your New Zealand Holiday.
Bay of Many Coves is a five star resort nestled in the heart of the Marlborough Sounds, at the top of the South Island. It offers resort style accommodation, world class cuisine, breath-taking scenery for those that want to simply relax, plus a range of outdoor activities for the adventurous.
Its remote location means getting there is just part of the experience – take a water taxi from Picton or to fully experience the region and its natural beauty I’d suggest joining a Seafood Odyssea Cruise. Onboard you’ll sample local fresh seafood from salmon, clams and mussels with a glass of our very own Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. And all while you cruise out through the sounds to the secluded Bay of Many Coves.
The property’s location includes landscapes of untouched native bush that extends down to the water’s edge that offers a peaceful sanctuary feeling along with the spectacular views from anywhere on the resort. There is a range of rooms available including the one, two and three bedroom apartments which are all light, stylish, spacious and well appointed with luxurious home comforts. Their premium Kereru Suite offers two bedrooms with superbly appointed décor and large balconies, it also provides you with total privacy with a privately gated entrance to both the suite and the spacious spa deck.
Simply relax and enjoy the view from your very own haven or step outside onto the Queen Charlotte Track for a walk on this internationally renowned track. Or spend the day at the resort – swimming in the bay or pool, enjoy a massage at the spa or explore the bay by their fleet of sea kayaks and paddleboards. Other lodge activities include fishing, cruising and swimming with the dolphins.
If you are looking to discover the outer bays, then visit Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary, which is a safe haven for many rare species including the Saddleback, Bush Robin and Yellow Crowned Kakariki. After a short cruise to the Island, you are greeted with birdsong, wooden nestling boxes for little blue penguins and fantails that follow you up the track, to a viewing platform offering spectacular views all over the Sounds.
At the end of the day, settle in for dinner at the Foredeck Restaurant where you will be treated to an outstanding a’la carte fine dining experience. Or take in an expertly wine matched degustation dinner – which is not to be missed!
If you are in New Zealand for a few weeks and travelling from North to South or visa versa, then Bay of Many Coves is the perfect place to stop for two or three nights, before continuing on with the rest of your New Zealand Holiday.
