About Me
My name is Nic (short for Nicola) and I have lived in New Zealand most of my life, however it wasn’t until I started to travel overseas that I learnt to respect and love my country.
My parents were both born in England and came to New Zealand to live shortly before I was born. I am eternally grateful to them for having the courage to emigrate here, a move which must have been very difficult at the time, leaving behind so many friends and family. I grew up with my two older sisters in Christchurch and have so many fabulous childhood memories of camping near Nelson at the top of the South Island or exploring both the wider Canterbury region and further afield throughout the beautiful South.
It was in my early 20’s when I first started in the New Zealand travel industry, though the real passion for my country started when I returned home after enjoying my overseas experience which included working in the UK enabling me to explore both UK and Europe.
Having worked in the travel industry for 20 years now, I have been fortunate enough to explore all of New Zealand from Cape Reinga in the North to Stewart Island in the South. And every time I head out to learn more about what we have to offer I am always pleasantly surprised at the way New Zealand businesses fine tune their skills to accommodate our guests from around the globe and amazed at the spectacular scenery that unfolds around every corner, which I never tire of. What I love most about New Zealand is the long golden beaches, perfectly manicured farmland, rolling hills gently pouring from towering mountains. Glistening lakes and meandering rivers. Rainforests, beech forests, kauri forests and tree ferns. Friendly neighbourhoods, scrumptious bakeries, quiet roads and rugged coastlines.
I left Christchurch following the Earthquakes in 2010 & 2011 and now live in a small coastal settlement on the outskirts of Auckland with my husband John. We enjoy the outdoors from hiking, kayaking and boating on the vast Hauraki Gulf, where we often see dolphins swimming and never have trouble harvesting our dinner from the sea. It is from here that I am inspired to design unique and personalised travel plans for my wonderful clients and hope they love New Zealand as much as I do.
