This 10 day Self Drive Luxury Golf Itinerary is ideal for the golfer wanting to experience a taste of New Zealand Golf Courses.  Along with your green fees at three of our Internationally acclaimed golf courses, we’ve included a private winery tour, guided cycling trip and an exclusive behind the scenes tour at our National Museum, Te Papa.

Kia Ora, Welcome to Auckland

Arrive into Auckland, where you will be met and transferred to your city hotel.

Auckland city offers world-class shopping, restaurants, cafes, bars and galleries which are encircled by wine regions, stunning beaches, pristine rainforest and the magnificent Hauraki Gulf.

The remainder of the day is yours to explore.

 This waterfront hotel has sundecks, private balconies and walls of windows for views of the harbour you won’t find anywhere else. Located a short walk from the central business district and Quay Street restaurants, shops and nightlife.  Each guest room and suite has floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony.  Head for the 4th Floor for one of the most spectacular sights in town, the heated outdoor lap pool has a window at one end for amazing views of the harbour – the only underwater viewing point in Auckland.

Board your cruise to Waiheke Island, where on arrival you will be met by your knowledgeable and private guide.   During your exclusive wine tour, enjoy the scenic sights of Waiheke Island.  Your guide will offer commentary about the Island, its people and it’s produce.   Visit the Islands top boutique vineyards for tasting and lunch at one of our world class vineyard restaurants.

Make your way to the Lake Taupo region, defined geographically by an ancient volcanic landscape, the largest freshwater crater lake in Australasia, geothermal attractions, and the mountains and ski areas of Tongariro National Park and dual World Heritage National Parks.

Taupo to Napier

Today’s Drive Time & Distance: 2 hours, 141km’s (87 miles)

Napier’s trademark is its Art Deco architecture, built in the 1930s, following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that destroyed the city in 1931.  Few places in the world have such a broad representation of the Stripped Classical, Spanish Mission, and Art Deco styles within such a confined area, which is why the city has deservedly become known as the Art Deco Capital.

Napier

Join your private guide at the historic port village of Ahuriri and cycle along the trail past Napier’s CBD, a world renowned Art Deco treasure, before continuing south along the coast and rural farmland.   Take in the apple orchards and vineyard country as you follow the Tuki Tuki River to the bustling village of Havelock North for cheese tasting and finishing your adventure with lunch at the acclaimed Black Barn Bistro.  (Lunch not included)

Napier to Wellington

Today’s Drive Time & Distance: 3.75 hours, 267km’s (166 miles)

Set off from Napier today and head to Wellington, known as the world’s ‘coolest little capital’ for its vibrant arts scene, world class café and restaurant culture.

Depart Wellington

This morning, travel into Wellington City to experience a behind the scenes tour at Te Papa, New Zealand’s national museum.  This hosted cultural tour will weave you through the Maori exhibition spaces at Te Papa to experience the unique history through stories and objects.  Behind the scenes, you will experience Ma-ori taonga (treasures) close up and provide you with an opportunity to engage with their your guide.

Return your vehicle to Wellington Airport and connect with your departure flight. (flight not included).

Booking Terms & Conditions:

Currency

All pricing is in New Zealand Dollars and includes 15% GST (Goods & Services Tax).

Pricing

Pricing is subject to availability and confirmation of the stated itinerary at time of booking.  If we are unable to confirm the stated hotels and services, we will endeavour to confirm substitutes at similar rates, however additional costs may apply.

Rental Car Terms & Conditions:

Inclusions: unlimited kilometres, airport/ferry collection fee, full insurance (subject to reduced excess), front windscreen cover, personal accident insurance, guaranteed replacement vehicle in case of accident.

Exclusions: insurance excess reduction of $345.00 including GST (note, standard insurance excess is $3,450.00 including GST), bond, petrol costs, one way fee ($57.50), optional extras, (all additional expenses to be paid direct)

Payment Policy

We do require a non-refundable deposit of NZD$250.00 per person before we go ahead with securing any reservations.

In addition, some of our suppliers may require further deposits to cover their strict cancellation policies, in this case we would advise you at the time of quoting and confirming your itinerary.

The balance of your booking would be required 45 days prior to your travel date.   If you book inside 45 days, full payment would be required at time of booking.

Payment can be made by electronic wire transfer and should include the additional NZD $25.00 bank fee.   We also accept Visa and Mastercard at an additional fee of 3.1%.

Amendments

We are happy to amend your itinerary and dates, however please keep in mind that some of the original services may not be available for your new dates, which may incur additional costs for substituted services.   Amendment fees may apply with multiple changes.

Cancellation Fees

Once Confirmed               Non-refundable Deposit of NZD $250.00 per person

Inside 45 – 21 Days          A Cancellation fee of 30% of your total booking value will apply, along with any cancellation fees applied by our accommodation, sightseeing and other providers.

Inside 20 – 8 days             A Cancellation fee of 50% of your total booking value will apply, along with any cancellation fees applied by our accommodation, sightseeing and other providers.

Inside 7 Days                      Full Cancellations, 100% charge

We will however do our very best to recover and minimise these cancellation fees but recommend that you purchase Travel Insurance to cover yourself.
